How often should you go to the hairdresser?

Your hair grows about 1 cm per month. Since there are so many different hair types and styles, the ideal time to get a haircut varies for everyone. If you have long hair that you’re trying to grow out, you don’t need to visit the salon as often as someone with a short hairstyle. Additionally, whether your hair is curly or straight makes a difference. Here’s a breakdown for you.

Short Hairstyles

Do you have short hair? Then it’s wise to book an appointment every 6 weeks to keep your haircut in shape and prevent it from becoming too heavy. For very short hairstyles, we recommend scheduling an appointment every 4 weeks. Ultra-short cuts simply require more maintenance, especially if the style features sharp and clean lines.

Curly Hair

Curly hair needs fewer trips to the salon. If you have loose curls, we recommend getting a trim every 10 weeks. For tighter curls, however, it’s better to come in a bit sooner. You’ll notice that your curls look much better when the ends are freshly trimmed. For curly hair, it’s crucial to use a hydrating treatment at least once a week. We recommend Eleven 3 Minute Rinse Out Repair Treatment for the best results.

Long Hair

Do you have long hair or are you trying to grow it out? Our advice is to visit the salon every 3 months. At each appointment, we can trim 1 cm to keep your hair healthy and in great condition. Long hair is beautiful, but it does require proper care and maintenance to keep it looking its best.

Men

Whether you have short hair or you’re rocking the latest trends, we recommend visiting the barber every 4 weeks. This keeps your style looking fresh and easy to manage. A 4-week interval is also perfect for cleaning up the hairline and trimming the neck area.

TIP: Do you find yourself waiting just a bit too long between visits and feeling annoyed with your hair in the final weeks? Plan your next appointment immediately after your visit to avoid this problem!
